Shaolin is a cinematic animation project developed by Brandoville Studio, created as a visual showcase and internal portfolio piece. The animation centers around a powerful scene where the main character undergoes intense training, gradually revealing their mastery of elemental powers. With a strong focus on dynamic action, visual storytelling, and environmental beauty, the project was designed to push the team’s artistic and technical capabilities. From fluid character animation to the magical setting of floating islands above the clouds, Shaolin embodies the fusion of ancient tradition and fantastical imagination
Shaoulin is a Portfolio and showcase by Brandoville Studio. On the art side, the studio produced a cinematic animation. Here are my responsibilities and roles in this project

In this project, I created the animatic using Krita, focusing on fluid and expressive motion. The goal was to present dynamic yet clear shots that showcase the main character's elemental abilities during a training sequence. I used martial arts references and drew strong inspiration from Avatar: The Last Airbender, especially in how elemental powers are visually portrayed and timed. The result is an animatic that feels grounded in real motion, while still capturing the fantasy and energy of the Shaolin universe.

for Project Shaolin, the focus was on delivering cinematic shots with clear visual storytelling. Rather than relying on complex camera movements, the approach prioritized clarity ensuring that each elemental effect and martial arts movement could be seen and felt by the audience. Despite the minimal camera motion, the animatic remains visually engaging, using strong composition and timing to highlight the character’s elemental abilities. For this color script, I worked in Photoshop, combining manual painting with AI-generated assets, as part of the studio’s initiative to explore AI tools in the creative process. The color direction focused on maintaining a natural and grounded palette. there is a dramatic shift in tone when the main character activates their elemental powers. In these moments, the overall saturation drops, except for the character and their elemental energy drawing the viewer’s focus and amplifying the emotional intensity.
The environment features a hidden temple surrounded by a magical atmosphere. It was created using a combination of Unreal Engine for the scene design and Photoshop for final refinements and detailing, enhancing the mystical and mysterious feel of the setting.
