GOD-LY is a refreshingly irreverent and laugh-out-loud adult comedy series that shines with the comedic genius of Grey Griffin and Richard Horvitz. From the very first episode, it's clear that this show fearlessly dives into the absurdity of divine beings navigating the modern world. One of the show's strengths lies in its ability to balance humor with poignant social commentary. The witty writing cleverly tackles themes of morality, existentialism, and the human condition, all while keeping the audience in stitches.
JOB DESCRIPTION
STORYBOARD
As the storyboard artist, I was responsible for creating the initial draft of the storyboard based on the script. Once the draft was complete, I presented it to the client for feedback and held discussions to refine the visuals and storytelling. After implementing the necessary revisions, I finalized the storyboard and passed it along to my partner for the next stage of production.
ANIMATIC
The animatic was primarily handled by my partner, while I took on the role of quality control to ensure everything met the required standards before delivering it to the client. I also worked on several key scenes myself, especially those that were more complex or crucial to the overall narrative.
In this project, I worked as an outsourced storyboard artist for the pilot episode, which runs approximately 31 minutes. My main responsibilities included creating the storyboard and animatic.
ANIMATIC COMPILATION
I couldn’t include all the scenes from the storyboard in the presentation due to the need for effective communication and the length of the video. Additionally, optimizing for the web was essential to ensure a smooth viewing experience. By selecting key scenes, I was able to focus on the most impactful moments while maintaining the presentation's efficiency and clarity.
RND
PART
Before starting the project, I collaborated with the client during the R&D phase to determine the appropriate quality and style for the storyboard and animatic. This process helped us establish a clear understanding of the project’s needs and ensured that we could meet the deadlines effectively. It also allowed my team to align with the client’s expectations, ensuring smooth execution throughout the project.
